Seminar Overview

Only for trained and seasoned senior executives, this seminar provides a framework for implementing project management in an organization. You will examine the pros and cons of various organizational structures to help foster successful project management. You will review and evaluate techniques to select, prioritize, and oversee projects within your portfolio. Using the well-established CMMI®4 model, you will investigate procedures, techniques, and methodologies for successfully and smoothly implementing a project management philosophy.

1. The Goal of Project Management

Everything we do has an objective. Implementing project management in an organization is no different. Successfully implementing project management can only be achieved when we understand our primary objectives. In this module, we examine and establish our short, medium, and long-term goals for project management.

2. Project Oversight Structures

High-level project oversight is key to successful project management. In this module, we examine the most successful organizational constructs used for providing project oversight. Learn the benefits and difficulties associated with each of the project oversight structures to determine which is right for you.

3. Project Implementation Structures

Project oversight is only half the battle. Successful project frameworks, processes, and procedures are critical to consistent, repeatable project and program management. In this module, we examine the most successful structures for implementing project methodologies, practices, and procedures.

4. The Project Management Implementation Project Plan

With our basis of understanding well in hand, we can now plan out our implementation project. In this module, we examine the key factors and tools needed to develop a strategy for implementing project management in our organization.

5. The Next Steps

This final module is a structured facilitation, allowing the seminar participants to determine their best approach to implementing project management in the organization. When you leave this seminar, you will have your next steps to success.
